End of Summer Fun

Katie, Kelli and I were able to go to The Lion King on opening night.

It was amazing, even though we were way high.
The costuming and movements have to be seen to be believed. We had a great girls night.
(See the man in the background. He was my high school history teacher - Mr. Bailey. weird)

Carson LOVES his Johnny Jump up. He runs- okay walks- all the way forward and then picks up his feet to glide back. So dang cute.

We let Cambree try it, but she's still a little too small to figure it out.

Our 2 newest Ute fans. How cute is that. They both went to the fan fest with their Daddies.

This cute old man has moved into my basement. Dad has so much fun watching his great grandkids. He has a huge grin on his face the entire time he is around them. Carson loves him and Dad always gets a big smile out of him, which delights Papa. What an opportunity for the kids to really get to know their Great Papa and for Dad to know all about them and their cute personalities.

We had the Sunday night 4 wheeler rides in the yard.
Addi and MyKelle love it, but Addi wants to go faster than MyKelle is comfortable with.

Gage is obsessed with the Jeep. He rides with his arm "out the window" just like the big guys. He will ride this until the battery is dead. He doesn't like to share it much with the girls either.

Cute Jeremy took them on rides forever.

Adam found a jump in the yard where he can catch a little air.
Don't know how much Jess loved it.

Can't get this picture to turn, but isn't Cambree the cutest ballerina ever?

Labor Day we went 4 wheeling up Farmington Canyon with Travis.
We made it to the farthest pond. It was beautiful.
Addi loved climbing on the rocks.

Pretty scary couple, cute helmet hair don't you think.

Nat has 6 more weeks to go until I have my 6th grandchild.
Doesn't she look great.
Love the fall, wish it would last and last.

Bear Lake 2010 - That's what the shirt says!

This is what we have become.
Almost everyone is here, Trav and Nat came a day earlier and
Steve and Tami were not able to make it.
Marilee is of course in Tennessee.
Chad, Teri, and Jill joined us.

54 years ago my family started coming to Bear Lake with 3 other families in the ward. I was a newborn. We continued to go EVERY summer with this same group for YEARS. Aunt Viv's family joined us years later. We stopped going with the other group after kids were getting married and there were just too many of us to reasonably make a plan for all to attend. I can't think of a year someone in my family hasn't gone to the lake.
(And yes, that is Keith in the bright red Utah shirt that stands out.
Way to make a statement.)

My sister has bought an entire section at Sweetwater and she and her family go every 8 weeks. My family never goes for more than 3 days, if we go at all, preferring to vacation in Oregon or California.
Rod and Rich and their families usually go for an entire week.
This year we decided it was time for a family reunion and it was wonderful to have so many of us there. Mom was the happiest person in Heaven.

I stole the next pictures of my niece's facebook and the quality isn't great, but it's the best thing that happened at the lake, so they must be included.
RODNEY got some of his own medicine after all these years.
Notice it is Travis who starts it. Way to go Trav!
Rod had been throwing water on the boys, notice the bucket in his hand.
We call that evidence.

Kamron, Jared and Travis caught him after a short pursuit
in which Rod claims a muscle pull.

Kyle  continued the revenge using the same bucket.
Ahh, the sweet taste of victory.

JoJo and Cambree

Katie and Cambree, love those lips.

Nat and Trav after their jet ski ride.
Of course, Trav dumped her off.

The 14 canopy compound.
Mom was smiling.

Addi and Gage playing in the sand, and smiling!

Cousins: Chrissy, Katie, Janelle

Darin playing with Gage and Addi, who by the way are playing nicely!

Katie, Kelli, and Natalie, getting some sun.

MyKelle loves playing with Rylee and Abby, Kippi's twins.

Jessica and Kelli going out on John's new tube.

Poppy teaching the girls some dances.
MyKelle and Gage playing with Poppy on the tube.
 Gage not loving something.
Amanda, Kelli, Jessica, and Jeremy going out on a fun tube ride.

Love Carson's hat.
Addi loved playing in the sand and really didn't care how dirty she got.
I think she won the prize. She also did not want me taking her picture.
Gage is happy now. Apparently he doesn't like to share.
Cambree and Carson hanging out.
Cambree is not so sure she likes Carson laying on her.
Adam and Carson being silly.
Another view of tent city before the wind picked up the front row
and rolled it over the top of the back row. Yes, there were canopy casualities.

Sisters!!!!

All tuckered out from the fun.

Fell asleep eating her crackers and cheese. Now that is tired!

Deirdre, Rod, Jo, Cheryl, Rich, Beth

(I don't have more pictures of Jess and Jeremy, I don't know why: kids send them to me!)
We had a fabulous time, lots of visiting and eating, and what else is there really?
Thanks to all for coming and helping.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Keith has wanted to ride his motorcycle to Yellowstone for several years now.
We looked into going there this summer, and the cost was just too high.
Then, I found a Worldmark in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and we decided to go there instead.
Keith and Travis left early afternoon on the motorcycles.
Natalie, Addi, Kelli, Cambree, and I followed in the truck later in the afternoon.
The guys stopped every 60 miles or so to rest and we ended up getting there not too long after they did.

Addi ready to ride. Thank heavens for portable DVD players.

Seriously, I look like my mother. First time I've ever thought that.
Bad picture but cute babies.

Kelli bought this darling chair for Cambree. It will grow with her and she loves it.

Addi loved the COLD pool and the playground.

We went on a short walk to a waterfall.
The guys in there vests, you know they were riding their bikes.

Tried to get a family photo of Travis' family,
but Addi used the time to have a nap and we were grateful.

Addi fell in love with the rocking horse, even sported a cowboy hat.
Course I had to buy her one.

My 2 babies with there babies.
Sometimes it's really hard to believe that we are at this point in our lives.

Gotta love the hat, but not shopping.

Ever seen a cuter smile.

The highlight for me was floating in the Yampa River.
Travis and Keith kayaked it in the morning. Trav lost his flip flops and
ended up walking barefoot 6 or 7 blocks through town to find us and go to the truck.
Then we rented tubes and made 2 runs in the afternoon,
Addi and pregnant Natalie even went.
Warm, delightful, silly, rocky
all in all a great trip.
I'll go again.
