4 New Posts

Be impressed, very impressed.
I have updated.
Thank you.

Christmas 2010

We celebrate Christmas with our family on Christmas Eve.
This year was great because most everyone had the day off,
and everyone was able to join us for at least part of the time.

The kid table eating dinner.

The grown-up table.
(I use the term grown-up lightly.)
More "grown-ups."

 Trav and Hailey
The kids made Keith and I open our gifts first, which was rather odd.
They had been keeping secrets for so long, they couldn't stand it anymore.
Our kids knew that Keith and I had both gotten each other ipads without the other one knowing.
Apparently, I am told, you can't share these.
So, 2 it is.
So far it's a fun little device.
Then it was the grandkids turn.
JoJo has a problem she has got to change.
I have a hard time stopping the buying of gifts for my grandkids.
These are Cambree's.
(Side note: I have a sickness. It's related to Kohls and a 30% off coupon.
Yes, it's true, I have $200 in Kohl's cash to spend this week.)
MyKelle told us last week that she needed to talk to Santa again,
because now she wanted to add a guitar to her list.
Silly girl, you don't tell Santa, you tell JoJo.
Addi loves playing with my old Fisher Price "guys."
So, we got her a house and "guys" of her own.
Carson looks about as impressed with clothes as Travis was growing up.
Of course, Cambree loved the paper.
 Carson and Cambree got chairs.
The 3 oldest got wiggle cars, which they love, and I don't have a picture of that.
After our Christmas, we went to Keith parents' house for the annual Christmas Eve celebration.
The kids, especially Addi, love Rusty, Grandpa's dog.
Tyler, Paul, and Nathan cooking scones.
Kelli and Jeremy dancing with the Wii
Kelli and Katie dancing. Notice Katie's cute pregnant belly.
Cambree is in the "I don't like strangers" stage.
She wasn't too sure about Grandma holding her.
The White Elephant game had 40 participants this year.
Wow, that took awhile.
My Grandkids with their Great Grandparents.
Grandpa and Grandma with Hailey, their newest great grandchild.
 Carson checking out Grandma's clown.
Darin hates this thing. It wigs him out.
 Cambree all ready for bed.
 Title - hmm
White trash?
Not really, Paul just making more room for all the gagbage.
 Christmas Day we went visiting.
Addison got a cute play house, which took Trav 2 1/2 hours and many cuss words to put together.
I just giggle.
Mostly I like her outfit.
Travis got a Kinect for his xbox.
This is Keith and Trav trying to go down a river.
Keith was "dead weight" according to Trav.
MyKelle loves Tangled and got the doll.
 Gage likes everything.
Cambree likes the doll now that it's out of the package.
Kelli likes Jeremy, now that....
Oh never mind.

Adam and Jess went to Evanston so we weren't able to see them on Christmas.

It has been a wonderful year with many blessings.
Can't wait to see what the New Year brings.

Christmas Eve Eve at JoJo and Poppy's

I decided to start a new tradition this year.
On Christmas Eve Eve (the 23rd), all my grandkids older than 2 get to have a sleep over at JoJo and Poppy's house and their parents get some time to prepare for the big day.
Adam and Kelli were sure that Carson and Cambree could come too. Uhh - NO!

First thing they did was go to the play room and load everything they could into the tent: dolls, stuffed animals, cars, books, baby toys, wagons, you name it.
If you look hard enough you can see Addi amongst the toys.
MyKelle and Gage in the tube. They walked all over inside of it.

We hung out with Poppy for a minute,
Then it was dinner time. MyKelle choose, so it was Wendys, of course.
I made Minky blankets for all the grandkids.
Hardest stuff ever to sew on, but the softest stuff to snuggle with.
We put on their new jammies and settled down to watch a movie.
Then it was time to "make" cookies. That's right, you take them out of the package and put them on a pan. Best way I know of to make cookies.
Bed time - yeah.
Gotta brush those teeth, or eat the toothpaste as the case may be.
Snuggled in bed.
Now getting these kids to sleep was a task.
Lay with them, play music, watch a movie, lay with them again.
Finally at 11:00 they went to sleep.
Visons of sugarplums maybe.
In the morning we had to check and see where Santa was. Indonesia if I recall correctly.
We made Christmas Santa ornaments for their trees.
Poppy made Mickey or Minney Mouse pancakes, depending on who you asked.
We took them home so they could get ready to return a few hours later for our big Christmas party.
I think I'll keep this tradition. May have to change where they sleep however.

Nordfors Family Christmas Party

TRADITION!
We try to carry on the traditions our Mother had at Christmas.
Because there are so many of us, we party at a church.
Menu never changes:
Fruit Cup
Scones and ham.
Some of us love it and one in particular hates it, but it never changes.
Char loves his Utah Santa hat.
It makes him happy.
Carson discovered basketball.
He loves it.
Cambree had to do some adjusting of Hailey's bow.
It looks better now.
Carson played baby Jesus.
Baby Jesus did not want to stay in the  manger.

Addi was the star.
We missed Katie and Darin who weren't able to make it.
Papa had a good time.
His joy in life is watching the little kids.
Frank, aka Santa, came.
Carson not too sure what to think.
When Santa arrived, Addi said "That's Poppy Santa."
She was so confused looking at him.
"Addi that's Santa."
"No, Mom, that's Poppy in a Santa suit."
She's 2. Isn't that too young to figure this out?
Cambree wasn't sure about the bearded man.
Hailey didn't much care one way or the other.
Thanks for the traditions Mom.
We still have fun after all these years.
